Vape wholesale MOQ is the smallest quantity a supplier will accept under a defined rule, but that rule may apply to the total order, one model, one option, an inner box or a master case. Buyers should confirm the unit before comparing prices or building an assortment.

MOQ, inner box and master case are different fields
| Term | Meaning | Buyer question |
|---|---|---|
| MOQ | Minimum quantity accepted under the supplier’s rule | Does it apply per SKU, option or total order? |
| Inner box/display | Smaller commercial pack containing sellable units | How many devices are inside? |
| Master case | Shipping case containing one or more inner packs | What is the total unit count, size and weight? |
| Mixed order | Order combining models or options | Which combinations count toward MOQ? |
| Price tier | Unit price linked to a quantity bracket | Which quantity and package level triggers the tier? |
Five common MOQ structures
1. Total-order MOQ
The buyer can combine eligible products until the total quantity or order value reaches the threshold. This structure may offer assortment flexibility, but it still needs a minimum quantity for each SKU or option.
2. Per-model MOQ
Each model must reach a minimum quantity. Options may be mixed inside that model only if the supplier confirms the rule.
3. Per-option MOQ
Every flavor, nicotine strength, color or configuration has its own minimum. This can increase inventory depth quickly, so buyers should list every requested option before accepting the quotation.
4. Case-based MOQ
The minimum is one or more unopened master cases. Convert cases into sellable units before comparing the offer with a unit-based quotation.
5. Value-based MOQ
The supplier sets a minimum order value rather than a fixed unit count. Currency, included charges and eligible products must be explicit.
How to normalize two wholesale quotations
Assume one quotation is per inner box and another is per device. First calculate the total sellable units. Then separate product value from freight, insurance and destination charges. Finally, check whether both quotations cover the same SKU, options, documents and delivery responsibility.
- Write the quoted package level.
- Record units per inner box and inner boxes per case.
- Calculate total sellable units.
- Convert the product price to the same per-unit basis.
- List included and excluded charges separately.
- Compare the complete evidence and delivery package.
A lower normalized unit price can still produce a higher commercial risk if the offer has unclear stock, unmatched documents, unsuitable options or an unverified payment recipient.
MOQ questions to include in every inquiry
- What is the MOQ for the exact model?
- Does MOQ apply per flavor, nicotine option or configuration?
- Can different options be mixed in one inner box or case?
- How many units are in each inner box and master case?
- What are the case dimensions and gross weight?
- Which quantity tiers change the price?
- Is the quoted quantity in live stock at the stated warehouse?
- How long is the quotation valid?
Use MOQ to manage assortment risk
MOQ affects how many SKUs a buyer can test and how much capital is concentrated in one model or option. A broad assortment with shallow quantities may help discovery but can increase replenishment complexity. A narrow assortment with deep quantities can simplify operations but creates concentration risk.
Do not use a supplier’s flexible MOQ as proof of demand. Combine order-size decisions with the buyer’s own sales history, destination restrictions, expected replenishment time and ability to verify each SKU.
Record the accepted commercial unit
Before payment, copy the approved MOQ and packaging structure into the purchase record. The final invoice should state the same model, options, inner-pack count, case count and total units. If the supplier substitutes a different pack structure, recalculate the order before approval.
Use the wholesale ordering checklist to reconcile the quotation, and the product documentation guide to match the commercial unit to the exact product evidence.
Frequently asked questions
What is a typical MOQ for wholesale vapes?
There is no reliable universal number. MOQ varies by supplier, model, option, packaging, stock position and route. Ask for the rule that applies to the exact SKU and quotation.
Can flavors be mixed to reach MOQ?
Only if the supplier confirms it in writing. Some offers allow mixed options within a model, while others require a minimum for every option.
Is one case always the same quantity?
No. Case configuration varies by product and supplier. Record the inner pack, master case and total sellable units for each SKU.
